last message...well said...but try speakin' english next time! jokez. Listen, i hear that a valentines thing is in progress, i don't know if it's true or not. Maybe you could hire a celebrity dj for the nite like Bally Sagoo or DJ Sanj...not sure if that's within the budget though, but please don't put on some mashed music from the 20s......nobody wants to hear elvis...yo get me!! But seriously, valentines will be good if what i hear is true. Hey Sutharyouth committee, tell us what's happenin'!!

It seems to me that there is a lot of talking going on and no action in regards to the valentines "do"- this has been discussed since the 8/1/03 and as far as i can see nothing has been finalised and there is only a couple of weeks left. Maybe it is short notice so maybe these ideas should be used for a formal, three course meal, dance ball 'thing' in Easter??

Hmm....Sakoni for Valentines day......i was thinking more on the lines of bar bollywood but bigger. Keep it over 18. For prices i would say roughly £10-£15. The food should be kept to a minimum....basically just bites not a full 4 course meal. Music should start off slow (romantic r'n'b and bollywood numbers) moving on to up beat bhangra tracks. The music should span the decades and not be biased towards one i.e. play songs from every era of bollywood and western. You could have a couple dancing session which lasts about 10mins during the middle of the nite but isn't restricted to only couples. You could experiment with different items like karaoke so the pi**ed youth can show off their bollywood stylee vocal talents. Have competitions for the best dressed or best couple or best dancer (god knows who would judge all this!!) Anywayz, it should start at about 9pm and finish at about 2am. So what do you say........is it possible?

I reckon that it will clearly come down to a nice venue like....Sakonis in Wembley. Natrually the three course meal being Crispy Bhajyas, Itli Sambhar and Gulfi!! After of course there will be romantic Bollywood music being played from a 1950's Vinyl record player, music should be in the region of...40's??? Good ol' pashion stylee! Sound good?? J

£20 for a nice venue, like a banqueting suite, and good "romantic" music sounds about right. Decorations won't be seen in moody lighting. Money will be better spent on food, entertainment and venue. Like me, I'm sure others would be willing to pay £10-£14.50 extra for a three course meal with live music! How about a hotel venue for those with enough stamina for some "after-dinner entertainment" eh? (He-He-He!) ;-}

Hi all, the valentine's "do" sounds good. Price should be £18-£20 where you get bites, decent music and a romantic atmosphere-hearts decorating the place + roses etc being sold. A proper three course meal "do" would not be realistic especially price wise- therefore keep it simple but decorate the club/bar. I agree this should be a over 18's do and emphasis should be on NOT being a couples nite - everyone should be welcomed-who knows it could be the nite where sparks can fly for people!!

ok mate, let's get this valentines thing going. I agree that it should be tasteful. Somewhere in london is a good location and it should be accessible by all. Every suthar should feel welcome......so don't make it an evening for couples only otherwise not many people will come.....make it for over 18's again. Your thoughts?

ok, so if we do a valantine gig, how much are we willing to pay? how posh would people like it to be? i mean any one can arrange to get together and meet somewhere in london but like any other night out, so i wanna know how special to make this and therefore how much preparation is needed. i personally dont wanna pay "a lot" but would still like it to be "tasteful" everyone's gonna have an oppinion so lets hear them people. talk to other suthars and friends tell them to comment and lets get some ideas so we can start planning this. preferably before valantines day!

Damn.....someone's taking it a bit toooo seriously!!! Mate, listen....just because no one is posting comments on this site does not mean they are not interested....we youth have other things to do as well you know....and besides, the festive period has kept us busy with parties and family things. Also, one other thing.....this website is very well constructed but not updated as frequently as it should be. The music section section is old, the music charts are out-dated, there are pages which have not changed for a long time, the addictive party pictures are not in the gallery, neither are the alton tower ones, the bollywood section is old as well....people want to see new things.....if the people behind the scenes are not bothered to update the website then how can you expect the youth to visit it regularly...it's a 2-way street man!! I'm not blaming the youth committee entirely because i know they do other stuff like organising the events aswell as compiling and publishing magazines so it's not like their sitting around doing nothing. So the only fault in this whole discussion is website updates, other than this the whole suthar youth thing is going better than ever expected.....all the events organised so far have been overwhelming and we look forward to next events which are hopefully very soon.   [WEBMASTER: You are right when you say that we have other things to do too. We don't sit all day looking for and writing material to put up on our website. This website is for the benefit of the Suthar community. If the community is not bothered in writing original articles and sending material, news and photographs to put up on THEIR website then that says it all. We have always taken time out to update the site whenever there is material available that we can put up for YOUR benefit. We don't get paid to do this. In fact, this website costs money which has been put up by a few dedicated individuals amongst us. So please don't knock this website. All we ask is for you to send us original material rather than rip it off other websites. We might as well add that due to popular demand, a discussion board and chat rooms were created. But it seems no one wants to log in and use this facility. Anything that remains static may eventually be lost -- so USE IT!]

as i said in the 1st post which started all this we really need people on this site to talk!its all well & good trying to arrange days out but how many people will come to it? i imagine quite few teenagers coming but what about the suthars over 20yrs who are wrapped in to work, finishing Uni, planing careers etc...we need to make more people aware of this site.what about setting up a main suthar youth commitee for the UK?this would take all the suthars communities and bring them into 1 grouping.so much can be achieved by doing this- general & religious events, new relationships.its fair to say that each respecive suthar community be it gujar or vaish stick with each other through ignorance or they are just too lazy to mix.we are all the same at the end of the day and if we dont do something about it there will be no suthar nath left in the next 20 years.please think about it! I wanna know how we suthar's celebrate christmas, if we "celebrate" it at all. or do we just use it as another excuse to get drunk. sorry i mean happy. Surely were not carving vegetarian turkeys and drinking non-alcoholic wines (yuk). but even if we are why do we do it? what does it all mean? sorry no more life's big questions. for all the right or wrong reasons, i stayed home with the family as i would do every other day, had a great family feast as i would do every other day, and laughed, as i would...you guessed it. (i did party till the early hours on christmas eve so probably was in no state to go anywhere on christmas) all this madness around this time of year makes me wonder and ask the important questions in life, questions like who are we? what are we doing? what are we supposed to do? and now i'm thinking what the hell am i gonna do next week for new years eve?! Please note: 1.was not drunk at the time of this message. 2.did not participate in any illegal activities. 3.do not intend any offence or impressions by what i write. 4. was just gettin bored of the lack of people writing freely on this message board. 5.dont try and figure out who I am cos i'll deny it all. Hello, i would just like to say that this community is being run very well and to all the people who give a helping hand should be proud of themselves.

Addictive was quite good although it was tough getting home from Sloane Square at 3am. Next time it would be better if it was near Charing Cross because that's the Night Bus land! Well done.

To all you Teeny boppers out there!

Please learn to speak correct english, we're not BLACK, we're east indian. Respect the language, the culture and your identity.

There are too many youngsters in the new generation trying to change who they are and where they come from.

The Suthar Youth have finally come together, which is excellant, but they should be teaching each other to value life and its successes through their elders and peers.

Best regards

Jazzy B

Do you think it's time for the "youths" to start making their voices heard by getting into the main committee and running this community properly ?

Hello to all! Just browsed through the sutharyouth web site and it appears to me that it’s done the U.K Suthar community proud.

So…. Big Up!! To the Techi’s and d’ organisers cause they know d’ flow…

All those peeps (that means “people” to those who don’t understand slang!!)

Please don’t down rate this superlatively well put together site…. Just recognize d’ fact these people are going out their way in bringing back a community that has had little or no recognition within the time we have lived in the U.K

Quick reminder…. Patels… Mistrys’… Pancholli’s… and others but to name… Have a well formed sizable community who have been dominating phone directories for years… (joke)… but they have had sufficient amount of funds and help organisers hold functions and events to bring “their” community together… whether it be recreational or social based events…

However… “We” the (Suthar Community) are slowly but surly attaining such positive development… Hopefully when were old and grey we can look back and say to ourselves, yeah!!! & Diwali and other religious events… to just name as an example, will and shall be celebrated the Suthar Stylee’

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great Diwali and that all is well. The long awaited 'addictive' event is here already.I'm having a miserable time looking for something to wear for the weekend,I've been Brent Cross, Watford and Harrow, and I havent found anything remotely nice. Has anyone noticed that when you don't have any money, there's always lots of things you want and like, but when you finally have the money, all the things that you wanted aren't there anymore?

To user in city Dombivali, thank you for your vital feedback. We are currently developing a health a-z directory covering such topics like Ayurveda, Homeopathy etc. As is common with such a massive undertaking, time is required to get the information and to publish it on the site. You can expect the health a-z to be launched in 2003.

Hi all, the North need a good hall and the South band need some practice and the West should look for a bigger hall, most of all the enjoyable was the West and South, South for the care and consistancy and the West for the pure finished product the hall looked real good, the best I have ever seen in my life makes the place feel like home,if it was a league table:

1.West 2.South 3.North

Just my opinion mind you,its all good hey??

Yo, Those who keep talking about "www.sgsuk.org". URL fails! Chill out, no need to get uppity 'bout it. So, Nalin_vad reckons that it's better than this. Well, he would, Wouldn't he?? Coz, he's one of the promotors' of it. The difference is that this site is Suthar YOUTH. I'm sure we can all make comments and judgements. But at least someone has the balls to get the "Bull by the Horns" as the saying goes, and done something 'bout it. We all need to start somewhere !!! From a small acorn does a mighty Oak grow !!!

Dear friends from Puna (or Bangor?!)...

Isn't it great that our Dada is being recognised at last. So many people seem to be promoting him and being proud of our Suthar heritage.

Surely we should all be proud of this momentum and not take pleasure in demeaning the efforts being put by members all around the world.

COME ON! Let's stick together and help each other rather than doing the very British thing of oneupmanship

I think the site at www.sgsuk.org is much better than this. We should all get ideas from each other haa. Anyway good but not good enough.

Too many roughy toughy around on this site with nothing inbetween the ears.

We have visited all the sites as a matter of interest and each has their own merits and are designed with an audience in mind -- so stop knocking it and stop being a typical 'chhodia'. Grow up and let those doing the work get on with it, unless you can do better. In any case, this sutharyouth website is the best and most appealing. Now you know the paintball event will not be attended by anyone over 18. We want some more Over 21 stuff. That was HEAVY as you guyz put it!
The event is for all over 14 years old. Over 18s are welcome!  In fact, people listed at the back of the flyer are over 18, so the event will predominently be attended by over 18s. The next "over 18s" event will be the Diwali party (hoping it will satisfy your needs). Please e-mail events@SutharYouth.com if you're unclear about anything, or use the feedback facility.

Hi all,

I only found out about the website update via an email I got from a cousin. Anyway... the site still needs a lot of work and much more improvements done to it. If needs Quality Assurance work done, then by all means contact me and I have no problem performing tests to give feedback on performance, links etc as I have done QA work for 5 years on CDs and Websites. Cheers.

a chat or user groups where youths can meet and interact with each other.
may be have pictures posted on the web site of functions and activites to intise the comunity's youth to join and take an active part as they are the key for the suthar community to go forward.

Next event should have a better mixture of music with more up-to-date stuff from east and west. I think london is the best place to hold events like this. Hopefully there'll be another 1 for Raksha Bandhan in August and again in Diwali. Peace x

I think you should hold events for people under the age of 21, like the Alton Towers Trip. Why dont you envolve the younger youth?
