LATEST LOADBETA RANGE OFFERS UNRIVALLED VALUE

TATA has retained the same low prices that prices that helped establish the
marque in the UK for its latest Loadbeta pick up and double Cab ranges to ensure TATA
vehicles remain the most affordable light commercials in the country.
The range comprises the Loadbeta Pick-up 2.0 TDI, the Loadbeta
Pick-up 2.0 TDI 4X4, the Loadbeta Double Cab 2.0 TDI and the Loadbeta Double
Cab 2.0 TDI 4X4. Prices starts at £7,495 plus VAT for the
standard two-wheel drive Loadbeta pick-up 4x4 Double Cab.
The rugged design and construction of all models ensure they can easily cope with
hard work. Payloads are extremely competitive at 1140 kg for the two-wheel drive
Loadbeta Pick-up and 1080kg for the two-wheel drive Loadbeta Double Cab.
In spite of their low purchase price all Loadbeta models come comprehensively
equipped with cloth covered individual bucket seats, full carpeting, stereo
radio/cassette player, door pockets incorporating drinks holders and a powerful
heating and ventilation system with fresh air outlets at head height.
Double cab models incorporate rear head restraints on all three passenger seats and a
heated rear window.
Mechanically, all Loadbeta models are powered a 2.0 litre turbocharged and
intercooled diesel engine which develops 90PS at 4.300rpm. Drive is through a
five-speed gearbox. A limited -slip differential is standard throughout the
entire range to provide increased traction in difficult driving situation such as those
encountered on building sites or dirt roads.
Four wheel drive models get the universally praised, electrically
selectable TATA 4X4 systems , which provides all-wheel drive at the flick of a
dash-mounted switch.
Drive from two to four -wheel drive can be accomplished on the move .
A further set of low ratio gear are available for negotiating particularly arduous
terrain. The increased ground clearance of the 4x4 models and the
well-weighted power assisted steering ensures that progress on and off the road remains
stress free.

All TATA continues to evolve the loadbeta range - which proved so successful
when introduced to the UK in 1994. The 4x2 Loadbeta pick-up captured 20 per cent of
this highly competitive market in its first full year of sales and was categorised

changes in switchgear, new instrument graphics and a whole raft of our minor

TATA INTRODUCES THE SAFARI ACCESS VAN

TATA is poised to rock the 4x4 van world with the introduction of the high
specification Safari Access, the 780kg payload, 5-door van.
Safari Access is based upon the ultra-high-specification Safari SUV and retains all
the luxury and creature comforts of this imposing 5-door off-roader, including air
conditioning , power assisted windows/steering/door mirrors and central locking.
On top of this the vehicle comes with a stereo radio/cassette player, folding
armrest, alloy wheels and is available in a choice of three metallic paint finishes
at no extra cost. In fact, Safari Access is the only light commercial van to
offer such a comprehensively high standard specification.
The load carrying potential includes 20 sq. ft floor space and 1.7 cu metres of load
space. The load bed has metal runners and a half -height forward bulkhead and the
rear side doors open to improve load access. A single side opening rear door
is retained.
TATA's advanced electrically controlled 4x4 systems transfers drive from two
to four -wheels on the move at the flick of a switch and the transmission is equipped with
a further set of low gear ratios for dealing with rough terrain.
Safari Access is motivated by a turbocharged and intercooler four-cylinder diesel
engine developing an impressive 90PS to provide good load-lugging performance.
Couple the unrivalled specification of Safari Access to the highest payload in its
class and an off-road driving capability of vehicles coasting several thousand pounds more

TATA SAFARI BRINGS FAMILY -SIZED 4X4 MOTORING TO THE MASSES
TATA's imposing Safari 2.0 OTDI 4X4 represents the biggest bang per buck,
or the largest offroader for the smallest outlay, of any new 4x4
vehicle on sale in the UK. Significantly it is the first TATA passenger vehicle
developed for Western European markets.
Two models are available , the Safari 2.0 OTDI 4X4 and the higher
specification, leather trimmed Safari 2. OTDI 4X4 EX,
Safari is both modern and sophisticated and the first TATA vehicle to be
created in India using CAD/CAM technology. It illustrates TATA's increasingly
advanced capabilities in vehicle production and highlights the desire by the Indian
manufacturer to establish a strong European presence outside its domestic market.
Indeed, to ensure Safari has Euro appeal, its exterior and interior design is
a result of collaboration between the UK's former premier design house,
International Automotive Design, and the TATA Engineering and Research Centre in
